Lantin - Prisoners accused of attempted murder of guards

LANTIN - Three prisoners are facing trial accused of violence against prison guards of Lantin during a riot the 16th of October 2009.

One guard got stabbed with a knife just above his eye, others got hurt because of prisoners throwing objects.

One of the prisoners on trial is Konto, who was already condemned for an attack against a prison guard on the 2th of January 2008, for 'exploding' his cell eight days later and of being the 'organiser' of the massive prison break in Dendermonde. This was in 2007, 27 prisoners managed to escape together.

Sentences will be pronounced on the 12th of March 2010.
