BRUSSELS - According to the recent year report of 2010 of the Federal Police, sac-jackings and holdups are diminuishing in Brussels. In order of importance, an overview of the ten most important crime types:
On 1: Destruction of vehicles
Police registered 6888 complaints for vandalism against cars. About 1000 complaints were filed for arson against cars (on one year time!).
On 4: Armed robberies
In 2010, 1452 armed robberies took place in the capital of Belgium. In other words, around 4 robberies a day.
On 7. Escapes
198 prisoners escaped or didn't return from penitentiairy leave from Brussels prisons. It's about 50 more than the year before.
