Vottem – Violence against guards in asylum centre

Since three weeks, tension is rising in the asylum centre of Vottem. The guards are repeatedly insulted with death treats and other, and occasionally also attacked. This Monday, a guard has been carved in the face with a sharp object. The guards have called a strike against the daily violence, police has come to take over. « We're always less and less to be attacked more and more », says Anne Marie Dereas, responsible of guard syndicate.
